A leading recruitment agency is seeking an English Teacher for specialist SEN provisions in Bristol. This position involves teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH and ASC needs, focusing on adapting lessons for individual learning styles. Ideal candidates will have Qualified Teacher Status or relevant experience and should excel in behaviour management and relationship-building. This role offers a supportive environment with small group teaching, making it suitable for professionals passionate about re-engaging learners.
January Start | Small Group Teaching
Tradewind Recruitment is working with several specialist SEN provisions to recruit English Teachers from early January. These settings support pupils with SEMH and ASC needs and offer highly structured, nurturing environments with small teaching groups of up to 10 pupils.
The role will involve teaching English across KS3 and KS4. At KS4, you will support learners working towards GCSE English, while KS3 pupils may present with significant academic delays. As such, these roles may particularly suit a primary-trained practitioner or a secondary teacher confident delivering a more differentiated, skills-based curriculum.
Pupils are often anxious learners who may display challenging behaviour linked to emotional regulation, trauma, or communication needs. Staff are expected to use trauma-informed, relational approaches, with a strong emphasis on consistency, predictability, and de-escalation.
This role is ideal for teachers seeking to work in specialist settings without the constraints of mainstream classrooms, supporting pupils to re-engage with learning at their own pace.
If you are a SEMH/ASC English Teacher in Bristol looking for a full-time, long-term opportunity where behaviour management and relationship-building are central to success, apply today.
