Job summary

Milk Education in Bolton is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to help students with SEMH needs. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, build trust, and promote positive behaviours within a nurturing school environment.

This full-time, term-time only role offers competitive daily pay (£107.71–£111.85) and opportunities for professional development, with DBS and safeguarding checks required. You will collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, autism or additional needs.
• Calm, patient and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Support pupils in and out of the classroom to encourage engagement with learning.
• Promote positive behaviour through restorative and nurturing approaches.
• Implement individual behaviour support plans and intervention strategies.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, resilience and independence.
• Act as a positive role model and promote self-confidence.
• Work with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and behaviour policies.
