Are you a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual ready to support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are seeking an SEMH Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive school in Worksop. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils overcome emotional barriers, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes within a nurturing learning environment.

As an SEMH Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Help pupils build emotional regulation skills, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment for all learners.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and tailored interventions.
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to maintain consistent support.

Requirements for SEMH Behaviour Mentor:

  • Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (highly desirable).
  • Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to behaviour management.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
