Job summary

Day Lewis Pharmacy is seeking a delivery driver to bring medicines to patients in the local area using your own vehicle and a handheld tracking device. The role is currently three days per week with flexibility to suit both parties and discusses with the pharmacist manager during your visit.

Pay is £2.50 per delivery drop, with up to 20 deliveries on the three days, and expected growth as the business expands. You will follow procedures and protect patient confidentiality throughout.

Job description

The role involves delivering medicines to patients within the local area using your own vehicle and a handheld tracking device. The position is currently available for three days per week (although we are flexible if it suits both parties and you can discuss with the pharmacist manager on your visit) and is paid at £2.50 per delivery drop. Hours will vary depending on the number of deliveries scheduled and your familiarity with the local area.

At present, the role averages up to 20 deliveries across the three days, although we expect this to increase as the business continues to grow and we expand our patient base, as delivery is a new service this pharmacy.

As part of the role, you would be required to follow our delivery procedures, maintain patient confidentiality at all times, and return any undelivered medication to the pharmacy at the end of your shift.

Requirements:

• Use of your own vehicle with appropriate business-use insurance
• Good knowledge of the local area
• The ability to handle confidential patient information appropriately

Please note that use of the handheld tracking device requires 100% compliance. It is an essential part of the role as it supports patient safety, provides proof of delivery, and maintains a complete audit trail should any incidents, complaints, or delivery queries arise.

We provide an invoice template, which can be submitted either fortnightly or monthly. Payment will then be processed the following week.
