Job summary

A healthcare recruitment firm is seeking a qualified nurse in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. The nurse will provide person-centred care and contribute to team working while ensuring compliance with nursing standards. Applicants must have a nursing qualification and current NMC registration. Job description

The post holder will: Assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient / client care, under the guidance of the line manager Provide person-centred nursing to ensure continuity of care within agreed standards Contribute to effective team working and supervise qualified and / or unqualified staff Comply with nursing strategy, trust policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and codes of conduct Adhere to Trust Behaviours

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to DHSSPS and NMC guidelines for practice requirements and standards, for example, safe handling, administration, storage and custody of medicinal products.
  • Adhere to Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the NMC (2015) The Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships based on mutual respect communicating on a regular basis with the patient / client, relatives and carers’ in the provision of care and services.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree, diploma or other nursing qualification
  • Current registration on Part 1 Mental Health of ‘Live’ NMC Register
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
