Job summary

SPS Fire & Security Ltd is seeking a qualified security systems engineer to cover sites across Greater London, Kent and Essex. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency callouts, ensuring high-quality workmanship and strict adherence to safety standards.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, the Right To Work in the UK, and experience with fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a certified security engineer (essential).
• Strong mechanical knowledge of installation, diagnostics and repair of fire alarm systems.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Experience with field service management systems such as JobLogic or Simpro (preferred).
• Enhanced DBS certification provided during onboarding.

As a security systems engineer, you will be attending any number of our sites across greater London, Kent, and Essex to provide high-quality work, ranging from routine maintenance of security systems to emergency callouts. We can only accept candidates who have the Right To Work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct system analysis of commercial security systems and testing to verify functionality and safety performance.
• Collaborate with construction teams to oversee installation of fire protection systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
• Utilise hard tools, power tools, and electrical experience to assist in the assembly and maintenance of fire safety and security equipment.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a certified security engineer, with strong mechanical knowledge of the installation, diagnostics, and repairing of fire alarm systems. (essential.)
• Full UK drivers’ license (essential.)
• Previous experience with field-to-office communication and collaboration.
• Capability to complete essential documents, such as job completion sheets, completely and without consistent errors.
• Experience with field service management systems such as JobLogic, or Simpro (preferred, but not essential.)
• Clear Enhanced DBS certification (all checks are provided as part of our onboarding process.)
• One-hour paid commuting time, each way.
• Company vehicle, and fuel card.
