Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a diligent Security Officer to oversee daily site security operations in Dartford. You will log incidents, communicate with the Operations Manager, and manage access control while upholding safety and presentation standards.

The role requires an SIA licence, potential for SC clearance, and a five-year UK residence history. You will contribute to reporting and risk identification, ensuring contractual obligations are met.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence required; Door Supervisor listed as mandatory, CCTV preferred.
• Ability to obtain SC clearance with five years of UK residence.
• Five-year checkable history to support trust and integrity.
• Good understanding of security requirements and functions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with officers and management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all incidents are logged and directed through to completion.
• Effectively communicate business issues to the Operations Manager and/or relevant departments.
• Maintain site access/egress and visitor regulation.
• Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained at all times.
• Complete timely and accurate reports on security activities within the site and present to Security Management team.
• Be fully conversant with the methods of working of all equipment.
• Sign Assignment Instructions and ensure updates are followed; raise corrective actions as needed.
• Fulfil contractual requirements and report issues to the Manager.
• Handle day-to-day enquiries related to daily security operations and report to the Manager.
• Be aware of KPIs and service level agreements; follow site procedures.
• Follow Open/Lock Down procedures and ensure health and safety reporting.
• Identify deficiencies in systems or equipment; report to prevent service risk.

Job description

• Ensure all incidents are logged and directed effectively through to completion
• Effectively communicate business issues to the Operations Manager and/or relevant departments
• Maintain the standards of the site for access / egress and visitor regulation
• Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained at all times
• Complete timely and accurate reports on all security activities within the site and present to the Security Management team.
• To be fully conversant with the methods of working of all equipment.
• Ensure that you have signed the Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure that complete and updated Assignment Instructions are being followed. Where site or procedure instructions are not being followed, ensure that corrective actions are raised with the Operations Manager
• Ensure that all contractual requirements are properly fulfilled and if there is an issue or concern inform the Manager
• Handle all day to day enquiries which arise from whatever source in respect of the daily operation of the security of the site and report to the Manager
• Any other reasonable request from management or client.
• To have an awareness of key performance indicators and service level agreements
• Site Open and Lock Down procedure
• Completion and checking of all accident and Health and Safety reports, Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system;
• Information Security ensure compliance with Mitie's and Clients information security procedures in all activities;
• Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
• Report actual and suspected security incidents;

• Excellent analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered and prioritise activity and ongoing communication
• Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence - Door Supervisor mandatory, CCTV preferable
• Must be able to achieve SC clearance (5-year UK residency a minimum)
