Job summary

Beam is seeking a Security Operations Lead to run detection, response, and vulnerability management across multiple deployments. You will own the SIEM, coordinate pen tests, and assure platform controls across regions to meet ISO 27001, SOC 2, and FedRAMP-like standards.

You will work with engineers to drive remediation, orchestrate adversarial testing, and lead third-party assessments while reporting to the Chief Information Risk Officer. Equity and strong benefits are included.

Qualifications

• A security operations lead who has built or run detection and response in a cloud-native environment.
• Experienced running a vulnerability management programme to SLA where remediation sat with engineering teams that did not report to you.
• Comfortable in GCP and Kubernetes at the level needed to assess a control, read a configuration, and know when to dig deeper with Engineering.
• Familiar with what auditors need and evidenced controls under ISO 27001, SOC 2 or NIST 800-53.

Responsibilities

• Running detection and response. Owning the SIEM and detection stack, managing alert triage and the MDR service.
• Owning the vulnerability programme end to end, including cloud posture and external attack surface.
• Scoping and coordinating penetration testing with our external partner, and owning the vulnerability disclosure programme.
• Assuring Engineering-owned platform controls: encryption, network segmentation, secrets lifecycle, audit-trail integrity, and data residency across regions.
• Making Beam incident-ready with incident response plans and runbooks, and assisting CIRO during security incidents.
• Leading AI threat modelling and adversarial testing with a red-team partner and providing security assurance for new product surfaces.
• Running third-party security assessments of sub-processors and suppliers, delivering security training, and reporting metrics to leadership.
