What’s the Opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Information Security team in a role that combines hands‑on cyber security expertise with strategic oversight across incident response, threat detection, cloud security and technical assurance.

Working across cloud and on‑premise environments, you’ll identify and investigate emerging threats, assess technologies and architectures from a security perspective, and continually improve our defensive capabilities. You’ll work closely with technology teams, architects, cloud providers and senior stakeholders, helping to influence security decisions across the organisation and supporting the future direction of cyber security at Cynergy Bank.

If you enjoy solving complex security challenges, working collaboratively across technical teams and continually improving cyber resilience in a fast‑paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Where You Will Work

You’ll enjoy hybrid working, spending 3 days each week in our Central London office and 2 days working remotely.

Why Join Us?

At Cynergy Bank, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape our future by contributing to cyber security strategy, detection capabilities and security controls across cloud, infrastructure, applications and data.
  • Work with modern technologies, developing your expertise across cloud security, SIEM, XDR, DevSecOps and security automation.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues across Information Security, Technology, Architecture and Engineering.
  • Continue to grow in a culture that values curiosity, innovation, continuous learning and professional development.
  • Enjoy flexibility, with hybrid working and our Dress for Your Day approach, supporting work‑life balance.
How You Will Make an Impact

You’ll contribute by:

  • Coordinating the response to cyber security incidents, supporting effective containment, recovery and communication.
  • Conducting proactive threat hunting and investigating suspicious activity across cloud and on‑premise environments.
  • Monitoring and analysing security events using SIEM, XDR and cloud‑native security technologies.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of detection capabilities, alerting and incident response playbooks.
  • Reviewing technical solutions, architecture and technology changes to help ensure security is considered by design.
  • Assessing cloud security controls and supporting alignment with industry good practice and regulatory expectations.
  • Supporting vulnerability management, penetration testing and remediation activities.
  • Working alongside developers and engineers to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and helping ensure lessons learned drive continual improvement.
  • Producing reporting and insights into cyber threats, incidents and control effectiveness.
  • Supporting cyber resilience, disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning.
  • Delivering cyber exercises and incident simulations that strengthen organisational preparedness.
What You Will Bring

You’ll be successful in this role if you have experience of many of the following:

  • Cyber Security, Security Operations, Incident Response or Threat Detection within a regulated or complex technology environment.
