Responsibilities
  • Provide a uniformed specialist service, ensuring patients, visitors, and staff receive advice and a safe environment in line with legislation, especially in emergencies, including communication with emergency services.
  • Protect people and property, detecting and preventing crime, operating and controlling access control, CCTV, and key control systems.
  • Undertake full range of portering duties and responsibilities.
  • Undertake full range of car park duties and responsibilities.
  • Carry out switchboard activities outside standard hours: Mon‑Fri 2000‑0600, Sat‑Sun 2000‑0800, responding to routine enquiries from patients, patients’ representatives, visitors, contractors, the public and staff.
  • Deal with challenging situations involving patients, visitors and staff, applying the trust’s prevention and management of violent and abusive behaviour policies and techniques.

Remuneration and Working Hours

Pay Band 3: £24,937 plus enhancements as worked (nights, Bank Holidays, weekends).

Hours: annualised, 24/7/365, 12 hrs day / 12 hrs night rotating on a 5‑week rolling rota.

Leave: 29 days plus 8 bank holidays.
