Security Officer – Luton, LU1 3LG

Pay: £13 per hour

Hours: 21.25 hours per week (Week 1: Monday–Friday 5:30 am–8:15 am; Week 2: Monday, Tuesday and Friday 5:30 pm–8 pm)

Grade: 3.1 Site Based

We are currently recruiting a professional and reliable Security Officer to deliver a high‑quality security service in line with site assignment instructions and customer requirements. This role focuses on protecting employees, property, and assets while consistently providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site; monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors while safeguarding the premises.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Driving licence and access to your own transport.
• Smart and reliable.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5‑year checkable history.
• Strong communication skills in English – both written and spoken.
