Job summary

Belfast International Airport is seeking Airport Security Officers to join the team at BT29 4AB. You will screen passengers and baggage, monitor access to secure areas, and provide excellent customer service to travellers and staff.

Shifts include 5 on 3 off patterns with early and late hours. We offer free on-site parking, a subsidised bus service from the city centre, full induction and ongoing training, and 28 days paid annual leave (pro‑rata).

Qualifications

• Passenger screening, x-ray operation and bag searches to ensure no prohibited items.
• Access control and ID/document checks for travellers, staff and airport users.

Responsibilities

• Perform passenger screening and bag searches with security equipment.
• Manage access control and verify travel documents.
• Assist passengers with queries and provide high levels of customer service.
• Respond to emergencies and patrol both airside and landside areas.
• Prepare incident reports and assist with security procedures.

5 on 3 off - Mixed Pattern:

• Day 1: 13:45-22:30
• Day 2: 11:00-20:00
• Day 3: 07:15-16:30
• Day 4: 04:00-14:00
• Day 5: 03:00-12:30

5 on 3 off - Earlies:

• All 5 days: 03:00-12:30

5 on 3 off - Lates:

• All 5 days: 13:45-22:30

• CRC

Access NI (Irish DBS) -

Role Responsibilities

of an Airport Security Officer at Belfast International Airport BT29 4AB:

• Passenger screening, x-ray operation and bag searches - use of equipment and manual search techniques, to ensure no prohibited articles are taken into the airport.
• Access control and ID/document checks - controlling of access to the aerodrome, checking identification or travel documents for all passengers, staff and airport users requiring access.
• Assisting passengers - Resolving queries from customers and assisting them with their journey through the airport offering advice where necessary & high levels of customer service.
• Responding to emergency situations
• Patrolling airside and landside areas
• Incident reporting and aircraft guarding
• Escorting duties when required
