Job summary

Securitas UK is seeking a Security Officer in Girvan, Ayrshire, to protect people and property on a premium site. The role includes comprehensive training, progression opportunities, and a 42-hour week with day, night, and 4 on/4 off shifts. Start date is 28 December 2026 and the hourly rate is £14.00.

You will work within a supportive team, enjoying benefits and development opportunities while contributing to a safer environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Driving licence preferred but not essential.
• Physically fit for patrolling.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year history.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent unauthorised access and monitor alarms.
• Carry out external and internal security patrols.
• Manage traffic flow and enforce parking.
• Test security equipment where appropriate.
• Handle keys and unlock/lock duties.
• Issue passes and manage logs.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
• Carry out external and internal security patrols in line with the Assignment Instructions.
• Manage traffic flow and enforce parking restrictions as required.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and carry out locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure all customer and Securitas equipment is managed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Assignment Instructions.
• Maintain all logbooks and records as required by the Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor and contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
• Handle lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
