Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Glasgow, UK, invites a highly skilled Digital Verification Engineer to join the Security Design team within the Crypto & Security Competence Center. The role focuses on verifying complex digital hardware, developing robust testbenches and advancing security IP across automotive, microcontroller, banking/mobile, and connectivity domains.

You’ll work from requirements through validation, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to state‑of‑the‑art verification flows using

Qualifications

  • BSc. or MSc. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on SystemVerilog for testbench development and verification.
  • Expertise in UVM: components, sequences, drivers, monitors, and scoreboards.
  • Solid understanding of Constrained Random Verification techniques.
  • Experience with Metrics‑Driven Verification incl. functional coverage and verification planning.
  • Ability to write SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) for protocol and design checking.
  • Proven success in Coverage Closure across functional and code coverage.
  • Experience analysing coverage results and refining test strategies to close gaps.
  • Strong debugging skills across simulations and complex verification environments.
  • Knowledge of Formal Verification methods would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for verifying functional behaviour of complex digital hardware architectures
  • Creating, reviewing, and maintaining verification plans, and tracking verification progress.
  • Specifying and developing verification strategies, tests, and environments for security features and hardware co‑processors.
  • Working with emerging verification methodologies and introducing them into existing verification flows.
  • Mentoring junior team members in best practices, driving technical excellence and consistency across teams.
