Job summary

Kepak Group in Bodmin is seeking a security officer to maintain a safe site, patrol the premises, monitor CCTV, and control access. You will ensure a secure environment for staff and customers while following Kepak standards.

The role requires strong observational skills, knowledge of safety regulations, and reliability. You will work 48 hours per week on 4 days (Thu–Sun), 6am–6pm, with transport required due to the location.

• Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems.
• Registered as a security officer.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises and personnel.
• Obtains help by sounding alarms.
• Prevents losses by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers.
• Controls traffic by directing drivers.
• Completes reports by recording observations and interviewing witnesses.
• Maintains environment by monitoring building and equipment controls.
• Complies with legal requirements to protect the organisation's stability and reputation.

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Kepak St. Merryn in Bodminhas combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

Your own transport is required due to our location and the times of Public transport links to Bodmin

Purpose of the job role:

• Maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Main Responsibilities

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Obtains help by sounding alarms.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Controls traffic by directing drivers.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Maintains organisation's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Working Hours

For this role, we are looking for someone to work 48 hours per week

• Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• 6am-6pm

Qualifications and Training

SIA Approved training desirable

Level 2 Health and Safety desirable
