Job summary

ISR Recruitment in Redhill, Surrey is seeking a Security Engineer on a permanent basis to develop information security plans and embed security management into operational practice. You will implement protections to enforce information security policies and monitor security events across the organisation and customer environments.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with secure networks, Cisco/Juniper equipment, SIEM tools, and the ability to communicate security issues clearly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with multi-network exposure and securing networks
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Firewalls, routers and switches and Juniper platforms
• Experience with SIEM, IPS and IDS security tools
• Ability to communicate security issues to peers and management
• Ability to absorb bespoke products and satellite services knowledge
• Right-first-time attitude in all tasks

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity design/management as the primary expert
• Be the final point of contact for security issues including troubleshooting
• Participate in the company Incident Management scheme
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure network support

Job description

• Permanent (must have or be able to obtain SC Clearance)
• Redhill, Surrey
• c£50,000 per year

Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years multi network exposure including hands on experience of designing and managing secure networks including Cisco Firewalls, routers and switches and Juniper Platforms
• Use of Security tools (SIEM, IPS and IDS)
• Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management
• Ability to absorb and quickly gain and retain knowledge of bespoke products & satellite services
• Must be able to demonstrate technical competency in all they do with a right first time, every time attitude.
• To be the key expert in Cybersecurity Design/Management for the company and customers as required
• Final point of contact for security issues including trouble shooting and resolving to sometimes tight timescales.
• Be involved within the company Incident Management scheme.
• To liaise with other departments as required to ensure full support of networks and knowledge.

The Opportunity:

My client based are a satellite communications provider working within the MOD sector who are looking for a Security Engineer on a permanent basis. In this role you will be developing the information security plans and policies within the Security Management and Compliance functions to embed security management plans into operational practice. You will also be implementing protections and solutions to ensure and enforce the information security plans and policies whilst monitoring and collating information from monitoring tools as well as third parties to provide an accurate view of the current security position of the organisation and customers including security events, ongoing risks and treatment plan.
