Job summary

Anson McCade Pty is hiring a Software Architect for a defence technology organisation in the UK. You will own software architecture across products, working with software engineers, systems engineers and specialists to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires extensive design experience, strong architectural knowledge, and the ability to communicate decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hybrid work with onsite days. Applications subject to BPSS checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in software design or architecture roles.
• Knowledge of architecture principles, patterns and practices.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages.
• Able to make and explain complex design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define software architectures and maintain consistency across development.
• Define interfaces between internal components and external systems.
• Guide development teams to implement the agreed architecture.
• Mentor software engineers and support architecture strategy.
• Evaluate new technologies and tooling.
• Communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders.
