Job summary

A public sector technology firm is seeking a Security Cleared Senior AI Engineer to develop intelligent AI assistants and enhance business processes. This role involves close work with Microsoft's AI technologies, including Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in Agentic AI development and a strong understanding of compliance and governance in AI solutions. The position is based onsite one day a week in London, Cardiff, or Glasgow.

Job description

• Security Cleared Senior AI Engineer
• Onsite 1 day per week in London / Cardiff / Glasgow
• Active SC Clearance Required
• £700-£750 per day inside IR35

Our client a public sector regulator are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join on a contract bases. You will be at the forefront of building intelligent AI assistants and agentic systems in the organisation to enhance business processes and improve user experience.

You will be responsible for developing, configuring, testing, and maintaining AI agents using Microsoft's AI offerings, such as, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Azure ML Studio and Microsoft AI Services to meet business requirements and deliver high value. You will be involved in the full development lifecycle and ensure AI solutions are robust and follow the organisations AI governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

To support the team deliverables, that utilise your expertise to ensure successful outcomes across team members and collaborating teams

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Agentic AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft AI Services.
• Develop custom machine learning models, including fine-tunning large language models (LLMs) on Microsoft Azure ML Studio and Azure AI Foundry.
• Ensure AI solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Monitor solution performance, optimise workflows, and align AI solutions to business goals.
• Develop AI proof-of-concepts and assist the business with evaluations to measure success and estimate value proposition.

Essential Experience

• Proven hands-on experience in Agentic AI development and automation using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Azure AI Foundry
• Understanding of data science concepts, AI / ML models, automation workflows, and agentic orchestration to enhance business processes
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform concepts, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse
• Experience tunning LLMs on Microsoft Azure ML Studio / Azure AI Foundry and applying Generative AI and prompt engineering techniques.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, observability, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to deliver secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions.
