Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and build software across UK sites, with opportunities to work in Gloucester or Manchester. The role is permanent and onsite, with potential for hybrid arrangements depending on project needs.

Candidates should have strong JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java, REST API experience, cloud (AWS/Azure), and containerisation expertise. An eDV clearance is required to join mission-critical cyber work.

Qualifications

• Core Software Engineering: JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS), TypeScript, Python or Java.
• REST API development with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure).
• Containerisation & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Relational Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.
• Unit testing and automation / Testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, Cypress).
• Experience in an Agile delivery team.
