Job summary

Addition Solutions in Farnborough is seeking an experienced security architect to design secure cloud architectures for defence and national security programmes. You will provide technical security leadership across customer projects and internal platforms, shaping mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing secure cloud solutions within government or highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of security architecture and secure-by-design principles.
• Knowledge of threat modelling methodologies such as STRIDE.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, DevSecOps and modern CI/CD practices.
• Security engineering experience across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Responsibilities

• Design secure architectures for cloud-based systems supporting Defence and National Security programmes.
• Provide technical security leadership across customer projects and internal platforms.
• Identify, assess and manage security risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce security evidence and documentation to support regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Develop secure-by-design solutions that reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen resilience.
• Support Agile delivery teams working across Kubernetes, DevSecOps and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, DevSecOps and Cyber Security teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Help organisations safely adopt modern technologies within highly secure environments.

Main Skills Needed

• Security engineering experience across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Familiarity with MOD security policies and standards, including JSP 440, JSP 453/604 and JSP 892.
• Excellent technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
