Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking a Structured Cabling / Managed Services Engineer to support critical infrastructure in secure military environments. This hands‑on role covers break‑fix support, structured cabling installations, network upgrades, and the maintenance of fibre, data, and voice systems.

Travel across sites in Bristol, Bournemouth, Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire is required; on‑call work and UK‑wide travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MoD standards (preferable).
• Experience with fibre, data and voice cabling.
• Proven ability to locate and rectify faults.
• Solid experience on working in ‘live’ customer sites.
• Ability to work from construction drawings.
• Willingness to be part of an on-call rota and working out of hours.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home (UK and overseas).

Responsibilities

• Always operate in a safe manner and in accordance with NG Bailey H&S policies while demonstrating appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that safety is visible throughout activities.
• Ensure adherence to NG Bailey policies, processes, and procedures.
• Ensure all works comply with NG Bailey IT Service’s standards and to meet and where possible exceed client expectations, while adhering to vendor and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain material control and records of deliveries and project stock.
• Provide timely and accurate internal and customer project reporting (timesheets, mileage returns, daily reports, completion certificates).
• Monitor quality and productivity against programme and maintain daily site records and reports.
• Maintain positive relationships with the customer through efficient project delivery and profitability.
• Ensure service and project installations meet internal and client specifications and statutory requirements.
