Job summary

Langdon Hospital is seeking an Exercise Professional to lead and deliver exercise and rehabilitation programmes within a secure, multidisciplinary setting. You will manage a personal caseload and coordinate activities on-site and in the community, working with service users to promote mental and physical wellbeing.

The role requires Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications, plus Level 2 fitness instruction and GCSEs.

Qualifications

• Level 3 sports or gym qualification required.
• Level 4 specialist exercise or rehabilitation qualification required (held or started and to be completed within 12 months).
• Level 2 fitness instructor qualification required.
• GCSE English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent).
• First aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver exercise, physical activity and rehabilitation programmes to optimise service users' mental and physical health.
• Manage own caseload within the Physical Therapies Team.
• Coordinate, support and plan physical activities on site and in the community.
• Lead on teaching and promoting healthy lifestyle strategies to service users and staff.
• Support service users to make informed healthy lifestyle choices.
• Co-produce evidence-based sessions for mental and physical wellbeing and long-term condition management.
• Use person-centred care in daily interactions with service users.
• Support development and delivery of physical activity interventions.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team under the Specialist Physiotherapist and Lead Exercise Professional.
