Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to embed Secure by Design across technology programmes in London, with 1-2 days onsite per week. You will help implement secure architectures and improve a suite of enterprise security platforms, working across architecture, engineering and delivery teams from inception through deployment.

The role focuses on threat modelling, security reviews, and practical guidance to secure projects quickly, with responsibilities including design

Qualifications

• Secure by Design outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
• Review solution architectures and identify pragmatic controls.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies.
• Exposure to cloud, infrastructure, applications and integration security.
• Experience supporting or administering security tooling and platforms.
• Ability to operate independently and add value in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Embed security into projects and programmes from day one.
• Conduct security design reviews and lightweight threat modelling.
• Drive security assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Enhance configuration, adoption and effectiveness of security platforms.
• Support onboarding and implementation of new security tooling.
• Act as a key liaison between Security, Architecture, Engineering and Delivery teams.
• Develop practical standards, templates and guidance to improve secure-by-design outcomes.
• Manage platform-related requests, vendor engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
