Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Section Manager to join our project delivery team on a major voids project in the Wolverhampton area. You will report to the Site Manager and lead a defined section of works from planning through to completion.

The role requires a strong understanding of construction health and safety legislation, site management practices, and experience coordinating subcontractors on site. Travel between sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Valid CSCS card required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating activities on site.
  • Familiar with QA processes and construction best practices.
  • Willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a specific section of works from planning through to completion.
  • Promote health & safety across sites.
  • Oversee variations on orders.
  • Deliver activities on time, within budget, and to required quality.
  • Monitor progress against project plans and take corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate site records including diaries, QA docs and reports.
  • Participate in site meetings with subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor costs and support budget control within your area.

Job description

We are looking for Section Manager to join our project delivery team. Reporting to the Site Manager. You will working on a Major voids project within the Wolverhampton area with an annual turnover of £6million.

Scope Of The Role
  • Manage a specific section of works from planning through to completion.
  • Ensure health & safety is promoted throughout the sites
  • Oversea variations on orders
  • Ensure activities are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor performance against project plans and take corrective action where required.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, labour returns, QA documentation, and progress reports.
  • Participate in site meetings with subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor costs and support effective budget control within your area of responsibility.
About You

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety legislation and site management practices.
  • Strong understanding and an all round knowledge on the Build processes within VOIDS
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating construction activities on site.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and construction best practice.
  • Comfortable with travelling between sites
Qualifications
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Relevant construction management qualifications would be advantageous.
