Job summary

Areti Group is recruiting a SecOps Engineer in Central London on a hybrid basis (3 days in, 2 days remote after 3 months). You will join a growing security function protecting a large Microsoft estate with focus on M365 Security, Intune, Purview, and Azure.

You will work with IT and infrastructure teams to strengthen controls, respond to threats, and drive continuous improvement in security posture, applying PowerShell automation and vulnerability management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cyber Security, Security Operations or Security Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Security.
• Experience administering Microsoft Intune environments.
• Knowledge of Purview, data protection, compliance and governance.
• Experience with Azure and cloud security best practices.
• Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access and Zero Trust.
• Experience investigating incidents and vulnerabilities.
• PowerShell scripting and security automation.
• Experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Qualys vulnerability management and Sophos security products.
• Exposure to SIEM, threat monitoring or security analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Identify and remediate security gaps and misconfigurations across cloud services.
• Manage email and collaboration security controls, including phishing and malware protection.
• Enhance identity and access controls through Conditional Access, MFA and least-privilege.
• Support endpoint security and device compliance initiatives through Intune.
• Contribute to data protection and governance initiatives using Microsoft Purview.
• Support security improvements across Microsoft Azure environments.
• Monitor security tools and respond to alerts raised through monitoring functions.
• Investigate security incidents, determine root cause and drive remediation.
• Collaborate with IT/infrastructure to strengthen controls and reduce risk.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation programmes.
• Maintain security standards and incident response documentation.
• Identify opportunities for automation using PowerShell.
• Produce regular reporting on security incidents, trends, risks and compliance.

Areti are recruiting for a SecOps Engineer to join a highly successful organisation undergoing significant investment in its technology and cyber security capabilities. The business operates a complex enterprise environment and offers excellent opportunities for growth and development.

You'll join a growing cyber security function responsible for securing and enhancing a large-scale Microsoft estate, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365 Security, Intune, Purview, and Azure. You'll help protect users, devices, identities, cloud services, and corporate data whilst supporting the organisation's wider security strategy.

Working closely with infrastructure and IT teams, you'll play a key role in strengthening security controls, improving resilience, responding to threats, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation's security posture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong M365 Security expertise who enjoys operating across both security engineering and security operations.

How Your Day Will Look

Experience Wanted

• Experience working within a Cyber Security, Security Operations, or Security Engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Security technologies.
• Experience administering and securing Microsoft Intune environments.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including data protection, compliance, and governance controls.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud security best practices.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, including MFA, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience investigating and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Exposure to PowerShell scripting and security automation.
• Experience working within a complex enterprise environment.
