Job summary

New Directions Education is recruiting enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to support a number of secondary schools across the Leeds area. We are looking for individuals with previous classroom experience who are passionate about helping young people succeed.

While full-time availability is preferred due to the needs of our schools, we are also happy to consider candidates seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Previous classroom experience is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach.
• Confidence supporting learners across KS3 and KS4.
• Experience with SEN/SEMH is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within the classroom.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
• Support students with varying academic abilities and additional learning needs.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
