GSL Education are seeking dynamic Secondary Teacher to work at an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ Secondary School in Selby, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.

Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons to students based on the curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
  • Creating lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, asking questions, and participating actively in discussions.
  • Monitoring and recording student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance, and communicating this information to parents and school administrators as required.
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.

Secondary Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with valid teaching qualification (such as B.Ed. or B.A) with a PGCE. Teachers having ECT/NQT status are also welcome to apply.
  • Experience working as a Teacher in a Secondary School setting.
  • Passionate about teaching and in command of techniques to keep students engrossed.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and classroom behaviour management, lesson-planning, patience and empathy.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment where all pupils are encouraged to learn, progress, and have aspirations for the future.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
