Overview

Job Title: Teacher of Science

Location: Reading   Contract Type: Permanent   Salary: Pay to scale   Start Date: November 2025

The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, contribute to curriculum development, and support students’ academic and personal growth in a dynamic and committed teaching environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support the subject leader in developing the Science curriculum.
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour management systems to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and support the progress and development of students within the subject.
  • Embed the Self-Directed Learning philosophy into lesson planning and delivery.
  • Mentor students in either the Lower or Upper school.
  • Provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom, including enrichment activities.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the leadership team.
General Duties
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider vision of the school.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
