Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking reliable Cover Supervisors to support students in secondary schools across Rochdale and Oldham when teachers are absent. Graduates are particularly welcome to apply and gain experience in education.

You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared materials, and help maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring work is completed while building relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
• DBS check is required and safeguarding checks will be undertaken.
• This is a temporary position with potential for permanency.
• Pay rates quoted include statutory holiday pay.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
• Ensure students remain focused and engaged with their work
• Maintain a calm, positive and productive classroom environment
• Manage low-level behaviour and follow school policies
• Support students with their work where appropriate
• Take registers and follow school procedures
• Ensure students complete and submit work as required
• Report any significant behaviour or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate member of staff
• Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
