Maths/Science Teacher (Temporary)

  • Annual Salary:£32,000 - £36,000 (pro-rata)
  • Location:Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
  • Job Type:Full-time, Term-time only, Temporary (Immediate start until Easter, possibly extending to July)

We are seeking a dedicated Maths/Science Teacher for an immediate start in a temporary role that will last until Easter, with the possibility of extension until July. This position is based in a therapeutic SEMH Special School within a respected Multi Academy Trust. The school is committed to providing high-quality, therapeutic education and achieving life skills and meaningful qualifications through effective relationships and tailored teaching approaches.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach Maths and Science to secondary students from Year 7 to Year 11.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate educational strategies and improve student outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and materials as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Maths, Science, or a related field (Essential).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Essential).
  • Proven experience in teaching Maths and Science at the secondary level (Essential).
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs of students with emotional and behavioural difficulties (Essential).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills (Essential).
