School Librarian – Full-Time, Term Time Only

Reading Area | £23,165 – £25,128 (Scale Points 12–17) 35 hours per week | 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday Term time + 5 INSET days | Start Date: November 2025

A successful and oversubscribed secondary school in the Reading area is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative School Librarian to lead their library provision and create a welcoming, engaging space for students and staff.

About the Role

The Librarian will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked and stimulating resource centre that supports the curriculum and fosters a love of reading and independent learning. They will also lead on a range of extra-curricular activities including:

  • Reading and film clubs
  • Homework support sessions
  • The school chess club

This role involves working closely with teaching and support staff, students, parents/carers, and external agencies to deliver a high-quality service that supports student development.
