Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Secondary Design Engineer (P&C) - Solar and BESS in the UK. You will create comprehensive designs for electrical protection systems up to 132kV while utilizing AutoCAD. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in secondary design and a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. This position is open to UK candidates only.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in Secondary design.
• Experience with projects up to 132kV.
• Skilled in AutoCAD for 33, 66, and 132 kV systems.

Responsibilities

• Create Single Line Diagrams and Main Control/Protection designs.
• Develop comprehensive secondary design for electrical protection systems.
• Creation of Core Sheets, Termination Diagrams, and Cable Schedules.

Secondary Design Engineer (P&C) - Solar and BESS

Responsibilities:

• Subordinate to the Protection and Control Engineer, create Single Line Diagrams and Main Control/Protection designs.
• Conceptual design of AC/DC schematics for contestable and private networks up to 132 kV for electrical protection systems
• Developing a comprehensive secondary design that encompasses AC/DC, general arrangements, interconnection, and many block diagrams.
• Creation of Core Sheets, Termination Diagrams, and Cable Schedules

Essential criteria:

• 5 years experience of in Secondary design
• Experience with EHV substation projects up to 132kv
• Experience with UK NGET and DNO
• Skilled secondary design schemes using AutoCAD for 33, 66, and 132 kV systems.

Desirable criteria:

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Direct experience working for an ICP or DNO in the UK
• Familiarity with AutoCAD electrical work
