Job summary

Runwood Homes is recruiting a Second Chef to join our Hospitality team. You will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals, without the split shifts and long hours, supporting the Head Chef and deputising in their absence.

We are seeking warm, motivated and passionate candidates, capable of providing person-centred hospitality to residents. A Food Hygiene Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 are preferred, with induction and progression opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 are preferred.
• Understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals meet menu, quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain portion control and minimize waste.
• Adhere to safety, hygiene and storage procedures.
• Deputise for Head Chef when required and support the team.

The successful Second Chef will have relevant experience within a catering environment. You will have a secure understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements, and be able to implement methods to ensure these needs are met. You will also have your Food Hygiene Level 2, and ideally an NVQ Level 2.
