Job summary

The Restaurant Group (TRG) is seeking a confident Second Chef to support our Head Chef in busy, high-volume kitchens across branded venues in the UK. You will help deliver consistent dishes, uphold brand standards, and mentor junior staff while ensuring guests leave delighted.

With strong organisation, quick decision-making, and a collaborative approach, you’ll thrive in a team that values quality and progression. We offer meals on shift, staff discounts, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Second Chef in fast-paced restaurants.
• Knowledge of ingredients and culinary techniques.
• Understanding of health and safety and licensing laws.
• Experience with P&L and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in delivering menu and dishes to spec.
• Ensure food quality, portion control and consistency across service.
• Lead and develop kitchen staff while maintaining brand standards.

What we're looking for in our Second Chef

• Experienced in the fast-paced world of high-volume restaurants.
• In-depth knowledge of ingredients, food processes, and culinary techniques.
• Familiarity with a variety of kitchen appliances, ensuring optimal utilisation and efficiency.
• Understanding of hospitality management.
• Awareness of Profit & Loss (P&L) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Understand the nitty-gritty of laws and regulations like Health and Safety and Licensing Laws.
• Excel in communication and leadership skills.
• Awesome at organising and multitasking.
• Plus, you're ready to share your last 5 years of life's journey, whether that's work, education, or personal experiences, and you're okay with a criminal record check.
