A non-profit organization is seeking Residential Counselors for seasonal positions in Chelmsford, UK. Responsibilities include supporting clients in a residential shelter, enforcing safety measures, and responding to emergencies. Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably experience in social services. Full-time roles offer extensive benefits. Shifts available for all schedules with competitive pay.
*These are seasonal/temporary positions lasting up to 5 months*
Available shifts: Days – Full-Time (40 hours): Monday thru Friday 8am-4pm; Part-Time (16 hours): Saturdays and Sundays 8am-4pm
Evenings – Full-Time (40 hours): Monday thru Friday 4pm-12am; Part-Time (16 hours): Saturdays and Sundays 4pm-12am
Nights – Full-Time (40 hours): Tuesday thru Saturday 12am-8am; Part-Time (16 hours): Sundays and Mondays 12am-8am*
*Night shift roles include a +$3.00 per hour shift differential*

These are openings for individuals to work in our Shelter Staff program. Residential Counselors are responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma‑informed and client‑centered approach. Other responsibilities include: assisting with screening, intake activities and orientation of new clients into the shelter program; providing guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, house rules and policies; overseeing security and safety; completing housekeeping duties; ensuring daily chores are completed; providing emergency crisis management to individuals.
