Job summary

Childbase Partnership Limited in Oxford is seeking a Seasonal Nursery Practitioner to cover holiday periods at Julia Durbin Day Nursery, Headington. The role is permanent with varied ad-hoc shifts between 07:30 and 18:30, Monday to Friday, supporting children aged five and under.

You will be part of an employee-owned organisation, receive meals during shifts, wellbeing support, discounts, and opportunities for online training and progression within our academies. Right to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for babies and children aged five and under.
  • Knowledge of child development and EYFS is a plus.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment.
  • Effective communication with children, parents and colleagues.

  • Provide nurturing care for babies and young children.
  • Support play-based learning activities and observations.

Job description

Join Childbase Partnership and be part of something extraordinary. Role: Seasonal Nursery Practitioner. Location: Julia Durbin Day Nursery | Headington, Oxford | OX3 7JU. Contract: Permanent | 0 hours/week | Work during academic holiday periods. Working pattern: Varied, ad-hoc shifts, between 07:30-18:30, Monday-Friday. Salary: £12.87-£14.38 per hour.

About you
  • Natural nurturing person with experience caring for babies and children aged five and under, ideally in an early years environment; holding a DfE approved early years qualification at level2 or above is advantageous though not essential.
  • Passionate about inspiring children: knowledge of child development and ideally EYFS knowledge, able to implement engaging activities planned by the Key Person to empower children to learn through play, and contribute to observations for their learning journeys.
  • Advocate for safeguarding, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and happy and their well‑being is promoted.
  • Collaborative, enjoying partnership with others and able to communicate effectively, building strong and positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Commitment to FREDIE (fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion, and engagement) and openness to reasonable adjustments.
