A national rescue organization is seeking a Seasonal Lifeguard Supervisor based in Chichester to oversee lifeguard services across West Sussex and Hampshire beaches. The role demands strong management and planning skills, proficiency in lifeguard operations, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders. You will need to be flexible with scheduling, particularly for evening and weekend shifts, and hold relevant lifeguard qualifications. This seasonal position starts on 30th January 2026 and lasts up to 9 months.
We are looking for a Seasonal Lifeguard Supervisor based at our Chichester Support Centre, covering operations across beaches in our Chichester (West Sussex & Hampshire) area from 30th January 2026, for up to 9 months. This is a seasonal role covering the beaches across West Sussex & Hampshire only. This role will include the additional responsibilities of managing a Water Safety Program whereby administration and planning skills are essential, with an understanding of the RNLI's water safety education messaging. These additional responsibilities will be discussed at interview. You will be required to be fully available between 2 - 6 February and 16 - 20 February. You will need to be proficient and experienced at working, training, and supporting lifeguard teams and their operations in such conditions. In particular we are seeking a high level of lifeguarding and operational experience on busy surf beaches, RNLI vehicle and craft qualifications for this role.
You will possess a sound knowledge of the beach environment and sea based recreational activities along with extensive experience in the provision of RNLI lifeguard services. As an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people and situations. It would be desirable to hold the National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification - Trainer Assessor. In this role you will be required to work with other Supervisors to cover weekend and early/late shifts, ability to be flexible if required, and manage their time effectively.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check. This post requires a valid driving licence. This post requires an ILS recognised lifesaving qualification.
