Job summary

Scotsdalegardencentre is seeking a Sales Assistant for our Garden Furniture and Seasonal department. You will help customers choose outdoor furniture, keep a welcoming showroom, and drive sales. In winter, you will assist with Christmas guidance and advice.

This role blends customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork to create an excellent shopping experience. Prior retail or sales experience and strong communication are valued.

Job description

This a permanent role, working every other weekend.

As a Sales Assistant in our Garden Furniture and Seasonal department, you will be responsible for helping customers in selecting the perfect outdoor furniture for their needs, maintaining an attractive showroom, and driving sales in the garden furniture department. During the Winter months, this role will shift into Christmas assisting customers with advice and guidance.

This role combines customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork to create an exceptional shopping experience.

Main Duties:

• Welcome customers, provide product advice, and handle inquiries and sales. This will include face to face, email and over the phone.
• Promote products, meet sales targets, and upsell complementary items.
• Keep displays clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Monitor inventory and assemble/ disassemble furniture as required.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Supporting where required across the Centre.

Requirements of the Role:

• Retail or sales experience preferred, with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable lifting and moving heavy items and working on your feet.
• Friendly, proactive, organized, with an eye for detail.

Rates displayed are for 21+, competitive rates for 18–20 year-olds.

Pay: £12.75 per hour

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Average hours over a two-week period is anticipated to be 55
(27.5 per week on average)

Week 1:

Monday and Saturday – 09:00 to 17:00

Tuesday and Wednesday – 11:00 to 15:00

Friday – 09:00 to 15:00

Sunday – 10:00 to 16:30

Week 2:

Monday – 09:00 to 17:00

Tuesday and Wednesday – 11:00 to 15:00

Friday – 09:00 to 15:00

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Every other weekend
• Monday to Friday (with set day off in the week)
