A leading conservation charity in Chichester seeks a Seasonal Fundraiser to engage visitors at Pagham Harbour, inspiring support for vital conservation efforts. This role offers flexible working of 3 to 5 days per week, full training, and a supportive environment. Ideal for those with a passion for nature who enjoy working outdoors. Experience in fundraising or customer service is desirable, but not essential.
As a Reserve based Seasonal Fundraiser at Pagham Harbour, you'll work alongside our friendly staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the importance of this extraordinary site, and inspire them to support the RSPB's vital conservation efforts. The role is target-driven and requires confidence, resilience, and enthusiasm - but for those who thrive on purpose and people, it's truly rewarding. Check out our fundraisers in action here! For further insights into our fundraising roles, application process, FAQs, and upcoming start dates, please see the recruitment pack. This position may be well suited to students or individuals seeking a recurring seasonal role each year.
One of the highlights of summer at Pagham is our tern colony on Tern Island. The sound of chattering terns drifts across the languid waters mingled with the harsher squawks of the Black-headed Gulls. Common, Sandwich and Little Terns all nest on the island and it is a delight to watch these elegant seabirds fishing in the harbour, hovering briefly before diving into the water for small fish.
The RSPB is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature. We bring people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. We carry out conservation on a large scale, protect and restore habitats, and save species from extinction. We're living in a nature and climate emergency, and we won't stop whilst the threats persist.
