The National Oceanography Centre in Southampton is seeking a qualified Chef to join our seagoing catering team aboard our world‑class research vessels. You will work closely with the Head Chef to provide nutritious meals for scientists, mariners and technical staff while supporting marine research worldwide.

You will prepare a varied menu, maintain high standards of food hygiene, assist with stock management and loading provisions, and ensure compliance with maritime safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Chef with relevant maritime cook qualifications.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills required.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities; adaptable to seagoing environment.

Responsabilités

• Prepare a range of hot and cold dishes, desserts, salads and refreshments.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Support stock management, storage, rotation and inventory control.
