Job summary

LRQA in the UK is seeking an experienced Seafood Auditor to join our seafood team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality audits against MSC Chain of Custody and domestic seafood assurance schemes, with robust reporting and client engagement.

The ideal candidate will have proven seafood audit experience, strong knowledge of supply chains, and the ability to travel extensively. Flexible home-based working and ongoing professional development are offered within a global assurance organisation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience auditing within the seafood industry.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting MSC Chain of Custody audits.
  • Strong understanding of seafood supply chains and traceability.
  • Practical knowledge of seafood processing, handling, storage and distribution operations.
  • Auditor qualification or experience against recognised management system or product certification standards.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied audit schedule.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout Scotland.

We are looking for an experienced Seafood Auditor to join our growing Seafood team in Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional with strong seafood sector knowledge and hands-on auditing experience to support the delivery of a range of seafood assurance programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits against domestic seafood assurance schemes and MSC Chain of Custody requirements.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver audits in line with accreditation and scheme requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Auditor qualification or experience against recognised management system or product certification standards.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied audit schedule.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout Scotland.
Desirable
  • Experience auditing fisheries, aquaculture or seafood processing operations.
  • Knowledge of additional seafood assurance standards and schemes.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Fisheries Science, Food Science, Marine Biology or a related discipline.
  • Lead Auditor qualification.
