Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in the UK seeks a Quality Engineer to drive AI-assisted testing and automation across enterprise projects. You will embed quality across the development lifecycle and work with cross-functional teams.

The role covers AI/ML frameworks, data validation, SQL/BigQuery, and modern QA technology such as AI-assisted test design. You will mentor teams and contribute to scalable QA solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual API and exploratory testing.
• Familiar with AI-assisted testing and automation.
• Strong Python programming to support test frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI workflows and models for performance and scalability.
• Build solutions using Lang Chain/Claude for agent-based and RAG systems.
• Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve EOTR outputs.
• Stay updated on AI/ML advancements and best practices.
• Optimise regression suites and improve test coverage through risk-based and data-driven approaches.
• Manage end-to-end defect lifecycle, including reporting, prioritisation, and resolution tracking using JIRA.
• Test all the data products with domain understanding that satisfies real-time, near real-time and batch consumers.
• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience with AI concepts such as Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, and Cloud Vision.
• Strong programming skills in Python to support PyTest framework.
• Familiar with self-healing automation concepts and smart test frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, BigQuery, DBT, Kafka or DB validation.

The role

As a Quality Engineer, you will leverage your experience in manual API, and exploratory testing alongside emerging AI-assisted and automation-driven practices to ensure high-quality product delivery. You will play a key role in embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle, driving stable releases and improving overall test effectiveness.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional agile teams, apply risk-based and intelligent testing approaches and contribute to continuous testing strategies., additionally, you will explore and incorporate modern QA technologies such as AI-assisted test design, data0driven validation, and automation support to enhance coverage, efficiency and reliability.

Key responsibilities:

• Exposure to AI-assisted testing, including test case generation and intelligent test optimisation
• Familiarity with self-healing automation concepts and smart test frameworks
• Experience with SQL, Big Query , DBT, Kafka or database validation.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practises.
• Knowledge of performance testing and identifying system bottlenecks.
• Interest in emerging QA trends such as Agentic AI, predictive testing and intelligent automation.
