Location: Basingstoke, UK – Onsite, full-time Contract: 6 months (Inside?IR35) Rate: £600–700 per day Eligibility: Must be a sole British national with active Developed Vetting (DV) and Orange clearance

We’re a leading technology consultancy specialising in challenging, high-security government and defence programmes. We are currently seeking an experienced Scrum Master with DV and Orange clearance to embed with an agile squad in Basingstoke, facilitating Agile delivery and championing continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Scrum Master, you’ll lead agile teams to deliver quality outcomes:

• Agile Ceremony Facilitation
  • Organise and run sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ensure time-boxing, participation, and outcomes for all ceremonies
• Impediment Removal & Team Enablement
  • Identify and remove blockers, escalating when necessary
  • Foster an environment of trust, transparency, collaboration, and fun
• Coaching & Agile Adoption
  • Guide teams on Agile best practice (Scrum/SAFe/Kanban)
  • Assist Product Owner with backlog prioritisation, refinement, and capacity planning
• Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and share team metrics (velocity, cycle time, quality indicators)
  • Facilitate retrospectives, drive action plans, monitor improvement progress
• Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as liaison between delivery teams, Product Owners, technical SMEs, and suppliers
  • Provide transparent progress updates at stand‑ups and sprint reviews
• Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure agile practices align with DV/Orange clearance processes and governance requirements
  • Liaise with assurance teams to demonstrate delivery discipline

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active DV and Orange clearance, sole British national
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in large-scale, complex programmes (preferably within government/defence/high-security)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) or equivalent certification
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and servant‑leadership skills
• Competence in Agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe/Kanban)
• Experience with Agile tooling (Jira, Azure Boards, Confluence, etc.)
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Proactive mindset with a focus on team empowerment and continuous improvement
