Overview

The Ki Agency is a small but dynamic agency, covering all media.

We are looking to add a full-time agent representing scriptwriters, working under our MD as Head of Script Department. This would suit an established agent wishing to progress their career.

The Ki Agency is a literary and scriptwriting agency, with four agents. Our list of clients includes many award-winners in publishing, television, film and theatre. We also represent books for dramatization, both by our own clients, and on behalf of a number of other agencies.

While we have an existing list of scriptwriters, and extensive contacts in the US, UK and internationally, we are looking to expand. We are looking for a full-time agent representing scriptwriters and the agency’s film and TV rights, working under our MD as Head of Script Department.

Role overview

The ideal candidate would bring with them a roster of established scriptwriters, and have wide-ranging relationships with producers across television and film as well as theatre and radio. They would continue to represent their clients as normal, but within our small but dynamic agency.

As the Head of Script Department, they would also be expected to read our clients’ books and pitch them to producers. They would deputise for the MD with our existing clients, as necessary. This role is the ideal next move for an established agent ready to progress their career.

Key responsibilities
  • Keeping up with development executives and producers across production companies and studios
  • Seeking commissions for our clients and sell dramatization rights for book properties
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Liaising with the book agents on our available book properties
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Effective and personable negotiator
  • Experienced with standard industry agreements and contracts
  • Proven success as an agent in representing working clients and obtaining good commissions for them
  • Extensive network among producers and other industry professionals, in the UK, US and internationally
  • Understanding of the industry
