Job summary

Bromley Healthcare CIC is seeking an experienced SCPHN School Nurse (Band 6) for the Bexley 0-19 service. The role includes working as the named school nurse for schools in the area and supervising junior staff within the school nursing team.

The post supports delivering the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme, with flexible options including part-time and term-time hours. NHS experience and safeguarding knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Qualification in School Nursing (BSc or PgDip).
• Registered Nurse – Degree or Diploma.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in school nursing.

Responsibilities

• Develop databases, contribute to reports, and participate in case conferences and multi-professional meetings.
• Collaborate with Health Visiting teams to ensure seamless care as children progress to school.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and maintain own revalidation and professional standards.
• Lead and supervise staff nurses within the school nursing service.
• Partner with schools, families, and community to promote child health and wellbeing.
• Attend team meetings and provide mentorship to junior staff and students.
• Support schools with health improvement and preventative strategies.
