Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) – School Nurse to deliver high-quality health surveillance, health promotion and early intervention for school-aged children. You will autonomously manage cases and work with families, schools and partners to meet health needs and support education and wellbeing.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, immunisations, and emotional wellbeing with opportunities to supervise and develop student and staff

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration.
• Evidence of CPD to postgraduate diploma level.
• School Nursing Framework knowledge and application.
• Sexual Health Knowledge.
• Continence Knowledge.
• Research awareness.
• Clinical Leadership experience.
• Management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver health surveillance, health promotion and early intervention for school-aged children and young people.
• Manage a caseload and work with families, schools and partner agencies to address health needs.
• Support safeguarding, Children Looked After, immunisations and emotional wellbeing.
