Newcastle United, a football club with global ambitions, seeks a passionate professional to turn video analysis, scouting intelligence and data into evidence-based recommendations. This role supports recruitment decisions and helps shape the club's pipeline of priority targets for future transfer activity.

You will work within the recruitment framework, produce concise player reports, assess ability and potential, research African markets, and travel domestically or internationally when required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in sport, performance analysis or related discipline.
• Strong football knowledge, including player profiling and elite-level attributes.
• Good understanding of talent identification and recruitment processes.
• Knowledge of African football markets, competitions, academies and player pathways.
• Experience of video scouting and producing evidence-based player reports and recommendations.
• Experience using industry-standard platforms such as Wyscout, Hudl, Sportscode or Studio.
• Ability to assess and communicate a player's potential and likely development trajectory.
• Strong presentation, video-editing and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.

What youll do

Working within the Clubs recruitment framework and methodology, you will:

• Scout and analyse prospective players across multiple levels of African football, primarily through video.
• Proactively identify players who could meet Newcastle Uniteds recruitment strategy, playing philosophy and squad requirements.
• Produce concise, evidence-based player reports, recommendations and presentations.
• Assess players current ability, potential and future development trajectory.
• Research African football markets, competitions, academies and player pathways.
• Use scouting intelligence and available data to place emerging talent into the departments recruitment workflow quickly.
• Create and store video clips and telestrated presentations that demonstrate relevant player traits.
• Upload reports and presentations to the Clubs designated digital platforms.
• Conduct detailed evaluations of priority targets ahead of transfer windows.
• Attend occasional live matches and travel domestically or internationally when required.

What youll bring

• An undergraduate degree in sport, performance analysis, sports science or a related discipline.
• Strong football knowledge, including player profiling and the technical, tactical, physical and psychological attributes required at an elite level.
• A good understanding of talent identification and player recruitment processes.
• Knowledge of African football markets, competitions, academies and player pathways.
• Experience of video scouting and producing evidence-based player reports and recommendations.
• Experience using industry-standard platforms such as Wyscout, Hudl, Sportscode or Studio.
• The ability to assess and communicate a players potential and likely development trajectory.
• Strong presentation, video-editing and written communication skills.
• The ability to make clear, substantiated recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.
