Role overview

We are looking for a confident communicator to join a large tech business operating on the global stage, within this role you will join a small team of professionals developing solutions to bespoke problems and analysing complex underwater datasets with a view to influencing the development next generation ship profiles, and ship systems.

Day-To-Day Role Responsibilities

Within this role you will be working on a variety of modelling, scientific and programming tasks across the following areas:

  • Magnetic, Electronic, and Electromagnetic modelling and field propagation in conductive and non-conductive media
  • Finite Element Analysis and Boundary Element Analysis
  • Underwater Analysis of electromagnetic, acoustic, pressure, and seismic signatures
  • Numerical and Optimisation Methods
  • Modern Control Theory

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Hold a degree, Masters, or PhD in Physics, Maths or a related area
  • Strong background with C++ programming
  • Experience with some of the following:
  • Vector Fields Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • COMSOL Multiphysics
  • MATLAB or Simulink
  • Confidence writing reports and briefs
  • Confident communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
