Orientation Marketing in Chester is seeking an experienced Scientific Writer to join our growing team. You will produce content at the intersection of science and strategy, writing white papers, case studies and thought leadership for senior pharma decision-makers.

You’ll translate complex GMP and regulatory topics into accessible communications, collaborate with account leads and clients, and ensure content meets accuracy, compliance and brand standards.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in scientific writing or technical communications.
• Experience in biopharma or pharma manufacturing writing is preferred.
• Strong research and ability to translate complex topics into clear content.

Job Title: Scientific Writer
LOCATION: CHESTER, UK / Hybrid

The agency is operated by veteran senior-level publishing and client-side biopharma industry experts.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Scientific Writer to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and Content, this role combines the creative flair of a marketing agency with the technical depth and rigour our specialist sector demands. You will work at the intersection of science and strategy, producing content that genuinely informs and influences senior decision-makers across the pharma supply chain.

What You’ll Do:

Research, write and edit high-quality technical content including white papers, case studies, thought leadership articles, product copy, and email campaigns

Translate complex scientific and regulatory topics — such as GMP compliance, bioprocessing, aseptic manufacturing, and analytical testing — into compelling, audience-appropriate communications

Collaborate closely with the account leads, PR and marketing teams, and clients to understand strategic objectives and develop content briefs

Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) and scientific spokespeople to source original insight

Adapt tone, depth and format for different channels: trade press, digital, print, and conference materials

Ensure all content meets accuracy, compliance, and brand standards, with a strong eye for detail

Contribute to pitches and proposals with relevant scientific narrative and strategic framing.

About You:

A degree in a life science, or chemistry discipline (or equivalent professional experience)

2–4 years’ experience in scientific writing, technical communications, biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing writing, or a similar content-focused role

Proven ability to write accurately and engagingly for a professional, senior B2B audience

Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, or related manufacturing subject matter

Strong research skills and comfort engaging directly with technical stakeholders

Excellent attention to detail and a structured, disciplined approach to deadlines.

Familiarity with GMP regulations and regulatory affairs terminology

Experience working within or alongside a marketing or communications agency

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain, including CDMOs, excipient suppliers, process equipment manufacturers and similar

An understanding of SEO principles and digital content strategy

Comfort contributing to creative concepting and campaign ideation.
