We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in the Camden area for a Science Technician to join their dynamic science department on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician or a science graduate looking to gain school-based experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Position Details

Job Title: Science Technician

Location: Camden, London

Start Date: Mid-November 2025

Working Days: 3 days per week (specific days negotiable)

Contract Type: Ongoing (with potential for extension)

Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing, setting up, and distributing equipment and materials for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Supporting teaching staff with practical lessons and demonstrations
  • Ensuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety
  • Managing stock levels and placing orders for equipment and chemicals when required
  • Assisting with the safe disposal of waste materials and adherence to health & safety regulations (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines)
  • Maintenance and calibration of scientific apparatus
  • Supporting students and staff during practical activities where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory environment
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures related to science equipment and chemicals
  • A science-related qualification (A-levels or degree) is advantageous
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a DBS check
